First of all, why did I have to wait over 200 pages for spice? Unacceptable in a dark romance, in my humble opinion. Secondly, there are only a handful of spicy scenes and the majority of those are only moderately spicy. This book was interesting and so weird. I’m annoyed at everyone who freaked the fuck out about the ice cream scene. It was definitely less disgusting than some elements that came to light prior to the ice cream. Still gross but not worth the hype if I say so myself. The book is pretty decent but I wouldn’t categorize it as dark romance cause there’s not enough spice. All in all, a quick and engaging book that’s easy to get through in a few hours.

I really enjoyed this it was a bit different from my usual reads in the sense it was darker. I really enjoyed the banter in this one but would definitely suggest you read the trigger warnings for this one.

First things first, the audiobook was amazing! The narrators had such amazing chemistry together, and it was unlike other M/F books with duo perspectives because I feel like they interacted with each other in their prospective chapters. I feel like I could hear them interact together, and it made the development of their relationship all the more real to the audience!

The book itself was so much fun! A bit gory at times for sure, but like what do you expect, they are serial killers' serial killers! Their love story was really sweet, and I loved that Sloane was able to overcome her fears of being unlovable, and that they both were able to find someone who shares their interest, despite being a bit niche. I love MC's who have shared hobbies!!!

The spicy scenes were definitely on the rougher side from what I typically read, but tbh I didn't mind ;)
Overall, an easy read and I enjoyed it a lot!!

2.0/5 overall, 3.5/5 spice.
This book has a lot of messed up things going on in the storyline so if you are squeemish, check content warnings first as there is a lot of graphic violence that is a bit out there/not ok stuff. I'll remember this book because of that lol.

Unfortunately there were a few storyline pieces that never same together for me; it was missing some key descriptors and there were components of the story that just felt thrown in/not integrated well. The smut was good but their relationship needed a bit more depth. I felt like the story could have been overall just better done.

Don't get me wrong, there were definitely points of enjoyment and it did kind of keep me guessing how the book was going to end with regard to their shared "hobby"... its weird that it was messed up but interesting? This one is fairly spicy spice.. so if you're not into that, its not for you.

This is the first of a 3 book series I believe -- tbd whether I go back for more.
