this book wasn't bad, it just wasn't really good either. i pushed through to the end because i wanted to see if our fmc would pull her head out of her butt (spoiler: she does but it takes until like the 80% MARK ugh) i wasn't even like engaged and excited about the story until the 70% and the entire last like 10% was horrible.

⚠️:  gaslighting, emotional abuse, medical content, toxic relationship, chronic illness (side character),  death of parent, death, abandonment

For me, this started out strong and kept getting harder and harder to read. I think this book needed a dual POV, because it's so hard to believe why the hero would be head over heels for the heroine based on the heroine's POV.

This one was a MISS for me, which is a shame because I liked the author’s debut and hoped I’d enjoy the book influencer sister even more. Unfortunately I found Trevor wildly unappealing as a love interest. I couldn’t get past his revolving-door playboy introduction and his copious personality red flags. Tara (and other characters like Seth) were cartoonishly immature.

I’ll describe this book like a… cinnamon red hots candy. If you like it, you like it. If you don’t like it, you *really* don’t like it.
