First, I liked this one better than Set On You. Tara was a little more my speed. Not generally a room-mance trope lover, but this one worked because it wasn't BAM SEXUAL TENSION from the start. (Even in spite of their "bare all" first meet.)

Second, holy Trevor. If Amy Lea did anything right, it was making me lust after Trevor Metcalfe. Whether it be the tattoos, the brooding looks, or the muscles, Trevor had it going on. I think this passage sums it up nicely: "a mildly less tortured, darker-haired version of the lead Sons of Anarchy outlaw biker, ready to whisk you away for a life of crime on his Harley-Davidson."

I loved the subtle growth between Tara and Trevor. And I loved the behind-closed-doors development. Nothing worse than overdone intimate scenes... you can only write about someone's throbbing member so many times before it gets older than old.

Cute and tasteful.

This was another fun book by Amy Lea! I absolutely loved the friendship and chemistry between Trevor and Tara. Trevor seemed closed off at first, but I really enjoyed seeing Tara help break down his walls. The fact that Tara is a hopeless romantatic and a bookstagrammer was such a fun addition. Overall, I’m really enjoying this series and I’m excited to read The Catch!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

This was good. I am kind of disappointed I didn't read the first book in the series beforehand however it wasn't impossible to understand as it is still a standalone book. I loved the premise of an "ex hunt" and as a sucker for a second chance romance I was looking forward to it. However I did wish it was done differently so we actually believe there could be another outcome. Maybe if we saw events from another POV such as Trevor's it would have been more exciting at times.

I did like the slow build up. It isn't a slow burn but it doesn't feel like instant connection/attraction either. There is some awkwardness between the main characters that makes it more believable.

Overall there was more potential in the whole "ex hunt" plot that could have lifted the reading experience. But I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry so much that I will definitely read more from Amy Lea.
