This book follows Josh and Jules, who absolutely despise each other. However, unexpected circumstances, forced them to work together, and they decide to call a truce. However, they hate very quickly turns to lust and they need to figure out how to navigate these new emotions.
As someone who loves romance and read a lot of fantasy romance, I have never seen a book do hate to love properly. Until today. These characters absolutely, despise each other. Even when feelings start to arise, the author does a phenomenal job at blending between these two characters. It was so addicting, and delicious and enjoyable.
This book is the third installment of a series. Normally with romances, you don’t have to read the books that come before, but with this one, you really do because the characters in the other books have a pivotal role in the story.
The other thing I really enjoyed about this book, which is the reason I elevated it to a five star is that there is more than just the romance. The author created a well crafted plot line that is separate from the romance for each character. It really plays into each individual characters growth, as well as making the story more about just the romance (even though the romance is the main plot). Not a lot of romance is well and that’s why I love this one so much. Even the scenes where the main interest were not together, I was still very interested and enthralled.
This book is very spicy. It is a very light light version of a dark romance. It has a lot more spice than your typical romance and there is some trigger warnings. Regardless, the spice was delicious and I really enjoyed it.
I feel like I’ve talked a lot about this book and I haven’t said much about it. If that doesn’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. I don’t know what all I wanna do is talk about this book because it was so good. I was not a huge fan of the first book of this series, a friend convinced me to read the second one and I enjoyed it, but this one is my absolute favorite. I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about the next book in the series, but I went from not wanting to read books by this author to now I want to consume everything by this author. It is very addicting, easy to read, and easy to listen to. The audiobook was enjoyable, the narrators are the same as the first and second book, which throws you off in the beginning, but they are really good at what they do.

There is something addictive in this shit because I am obsessed. By far my favourite in the series. I was giggling and squealing and just truly having THE BEST time (until the 80 - 91% mark, but we shall overlook that). On to the next.

In my personal opinion, Josh and Jules were my least favorite characters in the beginning- for no reason other than Jules was wreckless and Josh cared way too much about it. In the other books, Jules was really cut down- all dialogue involving her was just about how the main love interest is "so hot". Which, sure, but it gets boring.
But this book gets rid of that. I wish there was a little more slow burn, sure- Yeah, Josh, I'm sure you're going to feel immediately jealous after years of hating her- but overall? Really, really good.
If you're a fan of dialogue, this book is for you. In the other books, there were snippets of Ana Huang's ability to write realistically funny dialogue- that talent shines here.
Though, a content warning at the beginning of the book would have been nice. Look those up beforehand- they threw me off pretty hard, even with the content of the first book.
