This final installment was a return to form for Beaton. Breezily paced, not bogged down in rants or maudlin. A fitting finish to a mostly fun series.

I am a big fan of Agatha Raisin and book 30 in the series didn’t disappoint. This one seemed a bit light on romance for our Aggie though, which was a shame. Another light hearted, easy read from M C Beaton.

Not as good as the early Agatha Raisins but better than the last few (aside from one "too stupid to live" move from Agatha towards the end). Maybe the popularity of the TV series is causing the author to put more thought and effort into her books. Fewer dead bodies, more believable plot twists (not believable mind you, just less unbelievable than in some recent books), better character interaction. I just wish the author would marry Agatha off to Charles (and Hamish to Priscilla) and go from there.

This series has gone off the rails a long time ago, but dang it, who can resist the old school smokin hot, still smoking middle aged detective with a potty mouth? all the while this smoldering love hate thing with a lord? stuff of dreams and nonsense.

The Agatha Raisin series is always a bit silly but this particular book is Over The Top.

OK.
I won't be reading more about this character, I really didn't like the main character.
