This book is wonderful. It makes you feel guilty for liking Sophie but also you love her because she is flawed.
We aren’t perfect and Sophie is a good representation of this. Although some of her actions are horrible.
I found this book depressing at times but was also so very good!

I for one really like it when the protagonist is weird not as in 'quirky' but 'seriously mentally ill'.

On the surface, this slice-of-life novel could remind you of Fleabag, in Fleabag's most mundane/less unhinged moments (like, breaking up with the boyfriend to get the house deep cleaned). But there's such little edge here. Sophie, the protagonist, is a truly tragic character, a child-like 30-year-old whose wins are so small that your heart sort of breaks for her.

When it's funny it's funny in a sad way, and when it's sad it's pretty tragic.
Which is to say that I really liked it, but it sort of deflates towards the end for me.

I sped through this character narrated joy. It's funny, thoughtful and relatable (in an occasionally confronting ways). The characters are flawed and occasionally awful, but in a truly realistic way. It feels like a complete insight into Sophie's life at a turbulent time. She's not always likeable, but who is? We see the how and the why of her present situation and are equally baffled by her and sympathetic to her. All in all well balanced and feels very truthful.
