Ariel Falconer is a bartender at Escapades and has had enough of trying to be an actress. She has decided to move on but a job offer from her boss makes her think about her future as she goes on holidays for a week. Her best friend tells her to have a no-strings attached fling to help her get over her last boyfriend.

Jake Hunter is a professional beach volleyball player who is trying to qualify for the Olympics while struggling to make ends meet. He needs to work which is interefering with his training time and he has been unable to get sponsorship of any kind.

While Jake is attending a tournament he meets Ariel and his partner Colin, thinks Ariel may be the answer to Jake's problems as she must have money. When Ariel overhears Colin she is shattered and escapes back home.

Will Ariel listen to the truth from Jake or is she to bitter from her ex to give him a chance at explaining the truth?

This book was great and I like how it shows that being an athlete doesn't mean you are raking in the money. I also must admit that I was happier with Jake in most of the book than Ariel!!
