This book was a nice piece of literature to read to compare to the famous Disney version. This is more of a realistic tail that does not involve talking candles and singing and dancing spoons. It is a fantasy tail but more with a realistic twist. I believe that the fact that it’s more realistic it was more enjoyable felt like you could connect with the characters more and how the story develops story develops. The plot was very similar to the famous one however but did have a couple different twists to make it more realistic.

Beautiful. You forget how great an artist Mercer Mayer is when all you read are the little critter books.
