Like the last few novels, I enjoyed the mystery, the side characters, and the sense of family, but I often don’t like India. She frequently keep secrets from Matt. She insists he keep himself safe, while she goes off to confront people singlehanded.  I find a lot of her decisions frustrating. Otherwise, I do enjoy the stories.

I can see why #13 was the last of the series. It feels like the momentum and story ideas were slowing down. Shame. Nothing terribly wrong with the book - just falls short of the prior ones.

It was decent but I think there are better books in this series. The Toymaker's Curse I felt was filler and had little to no movement within the overall storyline in terms of endgame plot. Other than that it was still a quick and easy read.
