3 ⭐️ // If you’re looking for a cheery, light-hearted holiday read, look elsewhere. ⚠️

The book started slow for me, and sometimes, it was hard to tell when the POV changed between the main characters. However, this could have been an ebook problem.

This book covers heavy topics, so it’s not your typical feel-good Christmas book. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it’s worth mentioning.

Overall, I liked the story, but it wasn’t my favorite. Also, I wish there was an epilogue because I felt like some parts didn’t feel complete.

This audiobook was way longer than it needed to be in my opinion. I liked the sentiment of the book but it took such a stark/dark turn that it wasn't the cheery holiday read I was hoping for.

I enjoyed parts of this novel, but there is a lot of drama and way too many things happen to Kate in short span of time. A chunk of this story was more than a little depressing to me and kind of overwhelming. The end redeems it, but the story was a more of a downer than I was expecting.
