Time travel can make for riveting fiction!
Personal favourites include the movies Somewhere In Time and Back To The Future (a top 5 fave!) and books A Wrinkle In Time and The Time Traveler's Wife.
Wrong Place Wrong Time starts off with a thriller hint, with mom Jen witnessing her teenage son Todd stab a mysterious man to death. She doesn't know why, and nor do we.
Jen begins waking up each morning in the past - a day, a week or even years back in time. And with each comes a bit more clarity of events yet to unfold.
Now, it took me quite awhile to settle into the storytelling. I felt disjointed, a bit left out of details. I think this was by design. Once further in, the characters became more vibrant and the story shifted from what I assumed would be a thriller or sci-fi, to something more.
It's about seeing what truly mattered in moments gone by, while backstories are revealed, and less about the mechanics of time shift.
