Once I realized all of the characters in this book were unhappy, I decided I didn't want to spend anymore time with them. It's just not what I was wanting out of this book.

This book was so fun to read and funny. I actually laughed out loud at certain parts. The characters were lovable even though they were flawed. I enjoyed this a lot.

25 percent in DNF. I just couldn’t connect with the characters and found myself frustrated.

A book with older generation Indian American parents (late 50s) going thru a divorce after 36 years from an arranged marriage. Their adult kids have their own family dramas. The dad is meeting Indian women thru the internet, the mom has moved out of the home, found a job at the library and is starting to get attention from a music professor.
I loved this book! The “what will people say” moments that mom Lata goes thru is what every Indian person has heard 1000 times in their lifetime and made the book immediately relatable. Not to mention allll the South Indian dishes like Idlis and Pepper Rasam too 😋. The most minor criticism is that it all came a little too nicely at the end, but don’t mind me, this is an excellent book that I’m going to recommend to everyone, especially to my fellow Indian Americans.
