Sy I love you so......
Sy is the tortured guy you can't help but love.
He has past issues that make him closed off and feeling oh so alone. He us still as alpha as any biker can be but tries not to connect. His brothers are more than enough. Then meets Holly.....
Holly is very funny and a super great friend who would do anything for those she loves. You probably see what's going to happen if you read book 1 but there are a lot of personal feelings behind the secrets and lies. I will say she amped it to a different level for me, however, I've never had to go through that and I am sure there are thousands of women who reacted the exact same way. I can't fault the book for the very real possibility that her response is spot on. There is a reason I never said she was the strong one.
Sy and Holly bring out the best in each other. They are hilarious together and I wish we had more moments to see that and not as much of the sadness and drama.
Still a 4* read so thanks again! :)

Drama: 4/5 - Lots of previous drama, but I did enjoy he newer aspect of their MC and how their drama was brought into the MC family lifes.
Thoughts: Great story!!! So happy with this book. Onto 2.5!

It was all fun and games before Zane, Kadence’s ex-fiancé, kidnapped her and Holly. They came out of the experience alive, but battered. Holly almost lost her life, but after several surgeries, she survived. However, she lost something that meant the world to her. And Sy had no idea.
Sy saw the darkness he had in his soul mirrored in Holly’s. Understanding her pain, he made the decision to help her find her way back into the light. Their journey out of the darkness is filled with sadness, humor and lots of hot, dirty talking sex. Throughout the book the reader is taken back to Sy’s past, and it is agonizingly beautiful. His love for the one he lost, his devotion and pain will make your heart bleed. Yet, he puts all that aside for Holly and pulls her out of her darkness. In the process, he found a bit of lightness and peace as well.
I was not expecting to love Sy and Holly’s story as much as I did. It is an emotional read so be prepared to use a tissue or two. There is a lot of heartbreak and a lot of loss. The author kept the story from getting too dark with a great balance of humor and really hot sex. Then there’s Sy’s dirty talk …it does things to girl! It is a book well worth the read and I am eager to see where the rest of the series will take me.

As much as I disliked Holly in book 1, and what she did for most of this book, I liked this more than the first one and I will carry on for sure.

AFFLICTION is another addition to my favorite reads list. This is a wonderful continuation to the Knight's Rebels world that Savage has created. The love story between Sy and Holly is both tragic and beautiful at the same time.
Affliction takes place where Incandescent leaves off. Holly is fighting to heal from the viscous attack that has taken much more from her than anyone initially realized. Sy is determined to stay by Holly's side and help her to heal whether she likes it or not. Holly is emotionally scarred and is trying to figure out how to move on and reclaim the part of herself that has been dimmed by her ordeal. Neither Holly nor Sy have all of the information that they need to move forward and possibly have a relationship together. They struggle to build a relationship from nothing but lust, tragedy, and misunderstandings.
Sy has a past that he doesn't talk about with anyone that has caused him to become the silent, tattooed, bad ass biker giant that Holly is attracted to. Their relationship didn't start with hearts and flowers but quick and intense lust that Sy wouldn't let develop into something more until he almost lost Holly. Until Sy is able to accept that there are things that he can't change and people he can't save he will continue to struggle to truly be what Holly needs. Holly has a secret that she is carrying that is slowly eating away at her and until she shares it with the one person who deserves to know she will never be able to move forward herself.
AFFLICTION is full of heartache, a bit of action and suspense, and the struggle of two damaged people trying to find their bit of happiness. AFFLICTION is another wonderful read with great secondary characters. I'm loving Beau and what he's started in this one. Now I will have to patiently wait to read what Savage has in store for us next with playboy biker Jesse's story that is due out in early 2015!

Hot damn was Sy a sexy, dirty-talkin, over protective biker! This book had a lot of emotional aspects to it as well as hot sexy moments ;) Sy gets 5 sexy stars from me and Holly gets 4.5 stars. I'm not going to say why I've subtracted half of a star from Holly because It's kinda a spoiler. Regardless, I would still HIGHLY recommend this book! Personally, I liked it ALOT more than the 1st one!! Can't wait for Jesse's story!

I've been wanting to start this series since forever!!! I kept hearing about the books but I never had the chance to sit down and read them. Affliction has got to be one of the best biker reads I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
The book is raw, emotional and it doesn't sugar-coat life's blows.
We meet Sy who is a member of the Knights Rebels MC. He is quiet, gruff and his eyes speak of danger and raw pain.
When Holly gets caught up in his world, their fates become entwined. Holly is deeply attracted to the dark and handsome biker and she is not shy to show it.
Sy doesn't want a relationship. He stays away from relationships and avoids a deeper connection. When the gorgeous blond woman enters his tattoo shop one day, something inside him tells him that she will be trouble; trouble that he will not be able to stay away from.
Knowing deep pain and despair after the loss of a loved one, Sy does everything in his power to keep his distance, but he cannot deny the attraction. Holly wants to get inside Sy's head but she is not prepared for the painful secret he keeps locked inside. Their relationship is physical; just the way Sy wants it to be. But will it be enough to bring them together?
When life plays an awful trick on them, Holly realizes that Sy is not who she thought he was. He has the power to save her or pull her deeper into the dark waters of pain.
The book was very different from your usual biker book. I loved the fact that the deeper feelings between our couple came slowly and after the start of their sexual affair. Their relationship was a sort of outlet for Sy's pain, but in Holly's case it was what brought her loss and suffering. Sy was reckless and Holly had to deal with the repercussions of his careless acts. But we do understand later on that behind his actions there's a deeper need that he must satisfy...
I found the writing excellent. The author doesn't beat about the bush; she throws us straight into the story from the first page. I could feel Sy's raw pain, I could feel Holly's disappointment and loss. The storyline took a different turn than what I was expecting and I loved it.
I do think that the book could have been a little shorter. We get a quick shove into our characters' lives and then we are thrown into a long path of drama that in my opinion built the characters but on the other hand felt a little drawn out. Other than that I have no complaint. I finished the book in one sitting. It was that addictive.
I cannot wait for Jesse's story!
