I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was absolutely amazing, from cover to cover, and I'm sad to see the series end. Anna matured a lot, and was an awesome lead. And Kaidan… just WOW! I love him so much, and he's one of my all-time favorite male characters, and I love him and Anna together. They're such a cute couple and they go so well together. Also, the ending! Omg, it was so sweet and adorable and I just couldn't handle it!! I was so sad about Marna and Patti, and for Anna and everyone else, for having to cope with that. But everyone got a happy ending, and I'm unbelievably happy about that! I really don't know where I'm going with this, but what I'm trying to say is that I adored this book. It was just perfect, a great last book, and I absolutely can't wait for Sweet Temptation!!!!!

Edit: Also, the romance in this book is just so good!! Wendy does extremely well writing romantic scenes and keeping them age-appropriate. I enjoyed that a lot, just like everything else in the book! :D

THANK YOU WENDY FOR A FREAKING PERFECT SERIES FINALE BOOK TO A PERFECT SERIES WITH PERFECT CHARACTERS, PLOTS AND UGH EVERYTHING!

I adore The Sweet Trilogy with all my heart and I can't believe it's come to an end because I need another book oh god damn Sweet Reckoning was too good.

Just read the Sweet Trilogy and I swear to you, you will not regret it.

Will come back and add a review soon.

***4.5 stars***

This was a really great series! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It had great pacing, character development was good, plot was engaging, and overall I just really enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect, but I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast trilogy.

This was a good conclusion. I was very into the story and completely loved every character. I started to realize how immature the writing was. Overall great end to every caracter. The climactic ending fell kind of flat for me. But glad I read it.

2.5 stars. I think this book would've been a little better if it was about 50 pages shorter. Most of the story was very slow paced and there was a lot of "and I drove around, wondering what to do next" going on. There were a few surprise deaths at the end that I didn't see coming and took some guts for Higgins to include. Overall, it was a decent ending to the series, but it kind of failed to capture my interest most of the time.

So, that epilogue blew me away. The ‘reckoning’ was amazing, oh my God, such a good ending.

If you haven’t read the previous two books in this trilogy, stop reading. I will spoil them. You have been warned.

We ended Sweet Peril with Flynn dying, the Dukes figuring that the prophecy may actually be real, and the promise of a whole lot of shit going down. And we begin pretty much right where we left off. Maybe a couple of days after the end of Sweet Peril, I think?

The beginning and middle of the book was pretty much a big run up to the final battle, with a lot of running, hiding, stolen moments and worrying. Duke Pharzuph is pretty much obsessed with finding out if Anna is still ‘pure’, so there’s that to look forward to.

The romance was amazing. I’m a sucker for it, so if there’s romance in a book – in any degree – I’m pretty much guaranteed to be happy. It’s one of those totally unexpected but very welcoming romantic plots that melted my heart and made Kaidan even more swoon-worthy. I mean, he’s the son of the Duke of Lust, so obviously he’s got serious sex vibes happening but damn. That boy is insatiable.

The climax both parts excited and disappointed me. It did exactly what I expected, but – and I’m not quite sure how to put this into words – I was expecting more. More drama, angst, a longer passage, I’m not quite sure, but it didn’t satisfy me. It almost felt too easy, but that doesn’t really accurately explain how I feel.

THAT EPILOGUE THOUGH. Oh, man that tugged my heartstrings so hard!! As much as I love an ending with loose ties and unknowns, it’s so nice to know that characters truly get their HEA. Sometimes, you just need a little fluff to tie things off.

It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

Sweet Reckoning, on the whole, was a great end to the series. It has a good pace, a great storyline, a formidable heroine and a well-written ending. Anna is gearing up for the battle of her life, which means until then she has to lay low and hide her intentions from the Dukes. The Duke of Lust, particularly, is suspicious of her and is literally trying to sniff out her true nature. Secret meetings with the other Nephs become risky, particularly those with Kai, because they can't be caught in love with each other. Even their allies have to protect their own loved ones, and that was the major arc of the story. The Nephs are tired of being oppressed by their fathers, and sick of leading humanity astray. They all take little moments of joy, only to go back to the drudgery of their life. So, now they finally stand up to their fathers and take back their lives.

Anna is a lovable character, with her shyness, sweet nature and her dorkiness when it comes to Kai and in this book, she grows into a warrior. There are quite some action scenes in the book where she kicks ass, and even when she doesn't, her bravery in the face of the demons is worthy of applause. Her chemistry with Kai, well - that was off the charts in this books. Prepare for some sexy times guys, because they literally don't keep their hands off each other for about half the book. Jay and Marna's relationship was also sweet and heartbreaking. Overall, the atmosphere of the book was dangerous sprinkled with good family times. The only thing that I found a bit unnerving was the whole purity thing for Anna - I get that it is an angel book, which means it derives a lot from Christian mythology but it was getting too religious at times. The rest, however, was amazing and I honestly couldn't picture a more beautiful ending to the series.

Received an ARC from Harper Collins via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review

I thought the first two books in this series were good, but holy bleep, Sweet Reckoning blew the socks off of the first two books! I got the ARC from The Regulator Bookstore Wednesday afternoon and finished it the next morning. My journey of reading Sweet Reckoning can be viewed via tweet, starting here:

A few chapters in, I found this! I'd been told there would be one after finding the Sweet Evil reference in Origin, and was happy to spot it.

And then, I about died after reading page 53.

I was like, whoa, this did not just happen! And then, chapter 17 came around and the swooning began in full force.

And then, I finished Sweet Reckoning. I was sad it was over, but I loved it so much. I'm planning a full reread of the series as soon as I can!

Okay, I think that's all the tweets. Woo *wipes brow* Seriously though, Sweet Reckoning was amazing. I had so many theories about how the series would end, and I don't think a thing happened the way I expected it to. I'm fairly good at seeing plot twists and the like, but this caught me completely off guard. Wendy found loopholes in all the right places. Unlike a lot of other series enders, Sweet Reckoning had a nice amount of exposition. It didn't hit the climax and then have one teeny weeny chapter to wrap it up. I am happy to say that I got full closure from the ending given!

My heart hurts for the characters. I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say that Wendy is BRUTAL to them in this book, Anna especially. To be fair, there are some amazing moments mixed in. I was laughing my head off all the time while reading this. All the characters hit new highs and new lows. Their willpower is put to the test, and they pass with flying colors. There was at least one character who I hated at the beginning of the story and loved by the end. Anna really found herself in this book, and I love her more than ever. And if you look up, you see that Kai definitely has a place in my heart.

Like with the previous books, Sweet Reckoning has a prologue and an epilogue. Both provided some really cool insight, and honestly, the epilogue was very near perfect. I'm the kind of reader that loves pretty bow on top of a story, and Wendy did it perfectly! The action was constant and the romance beyond scorching. There were a couple awkward moments for the reader and the characters, but they always got past it. The characters all came full circle and I believe just about every plot point was wrapped up. There were no loose ends, which was REALLY nice. Sorry this can't be more in depth, but I REALLY don't want to spoil it! A perfect series ender that will go down in the history books! Five stars for sure!
