3.5 stars:
Firstly, I adore the puns sprinkled throughout this book! It is funny and light-hearted, with gorgeous recipes included for the reader to try. The Coffee Klatch feels cosy and warm and it is easy to visualise, with all the characters rallying around Kally to support her. Egypt is a playful and fun character, and I would love to read more about her. Overall, this was a heart-warming, light romance. Thank you to @lovebookstours and @effiekammenou_author for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Love is What You Bake of it (The Meraki Series Book 1)

This is a lovely romance book by a new author l. I love Kally and her baking. Kally passion for baking is shown fro the effort she puts in her cafe. Max at first is not what you expect. I love how light hearted and humorous this book is it puts a smile on your face. Kally is scared to commit to a relationship due to her past burns.

Most of you know that I am not much of a romance reader but when I saw the cover of this one I had to read it.
The characters in this book were fun and quirky! Kally has a very supportive, kind and loving family. There were definetly some My Big Fat Greek Wedding vibes going on. If you loved that movie, you will enjoy this book.

I love a strong female protagonist and Kally was just that. She was focused on her cafe and planned to remain focused as she healed from a previous relationship gone wrong. When Max enters her life, Kally wasn’t expecting him and was not looking for love. Neither was Max. Both of them were reeling from past broken relationships. I enjoyed watching their walls come down as they learned to care for each other and how to love again.

I especially enjoyed the little mystery around Kally’s family history, especially her grandmother.

This was all around a fun read and the recipes and confections were described so vividly I wanted to eat cupcakes, cookies, and all the pastries while reading this one.

So beware, this book will make you crave sweets. This was a fun and quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you to #KateRockBookTours and @EffieKammenou_Author for my digital copy to review.

What a cute little Greek love story. I loved this book and the additional touches of some recipes every couple of chapters - I will definitely be trying them out!

I loved Kally and her relationship with Max, he seems like the perfect guy. Handsome, funny and crazy for Kally! They both have their secrets which broke my heart but I loved them together and was rooting for them from the beginning.

Some twists throughout actually made me feel sorry for them both and a little emotional at points throughout. Kally‘s past particularly touching and emotional.

Thank you to Effie and Love Book Tours for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. So thankful to have been given this opportunity and chosen for this tour.

Who doesn't love a book that includes recipes!
The author was kind enough to share some of the sweets Kally bakes. The author also uses Greek words and the story includes Greek customs that I found fun and interesting. The love hate relationship between Kally and Max had me yelling at the characters. I enjoyed all the characters in this book including Kally's grandma. This story is told from multiple POV and I read it in one day.

One thing that Kally Andarakis cannot abide is a cheating man. Having previously fallen in love and losing someone special - then finding out a truth about him after the fact - has kept her guarding her heart. However, when a handsome cop named Max Vardaxis enters her café her senses are immediately assaulted. Kally has actually found fulfillment in life. She has done so by creating wonderful baked items. In fact, this book contains several delectable recipes. This is what makes Kally happy. Starting a new romance after her bad experience is not the direction Kelly chooses to go.

Kally comes from a strong family, albeit more than a bit nosy, parents who constantly bicker, a friend who is determined for Kally to find a man. Despite that bit of chaos in her life, Kally is more than happy. Besides wondering whether or not anything could possibly happen with Max, there is a bit of mystery in Kally's life, and that is the fact that her grandfather has been missing for decades.

Meanwhile, it becomes more than clear that both Max and Kally are drawn to one another, yet existing baggage that they both have bears serious consideration. How far either of then will go to reach for love is a chance they both are not certain they can take.

In this sweet story where both characters come from a Greek background brings both drama and joy, with a light touch that was a delight to read. This entertaining story was a great start to an already enjoyable series. The second book in this series is Love by Design, which I have already read and enjoyed as much as I have this book.

Many thanks to Effie Kammenou for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This story is a romantic comedy with all the fixings. Plus it has recipes. Now I don’t know about you but I love when a character is eating delicious food and I not only can imagine the taste I can go to my very own kitchen and experience it. There was elements of drama (especially the family kind), it was a little emotional, some heartbreak and of course comedy laced with romance. I loved the character development and would have rated this one five stars if the storyline was a bit more detailed. Kally and Max are the perfect main characters and you will continue reading despite those missing details for them.

I truly enjoyed this wonderful read and I can't wait to read more in this fun, heartfelt series. You are instantly drawn into this strongly bonded family. They may well drive each other completely crazy at times but they are ALWAYS there for each other no matter what. That really resonated with me. This first book brings us the story of Kally and Max who have both been hurt by previous relationships and are very unsure that their futures can actually include a romantic relationship. With lots of twists and turns you are kept captivated by their budding relationship as they navigate lifes possibilities. This book also includes a back story involving Kallys Yiayia that draws you in and I hope it continues in the following books because I need to now more about this sassy lady!
