As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I just had to share this amazing title for readers of all ages.  But I’d like to make a special pitch to K-12 educators and homeschooling families for four important reasons.

First, the book highlights women who never had children.  Author @lauralcarroll88 opted not to discuss their reasons for the decision, which sends a powerful message that women don’t owe anyone an explanation for their life choices (including family members who often ask).

Second, this is not your standard book of “Women’s History Month” figures (although some are included). I quickly went through the book and 65 out of 100 names were not immediately recognizable to me. That means I have so much to learn and this is my favorite kind of non-fiction!

Third, these 100 women have contributed immense value to our world and we should know their names and accomplishments. (I mean, really, Anita O’Day made the list! 🎤🎶)

Finally, I would love every student to use this resource when they need to write a paper about a notable person. Digging deeper into the lives of these incredible women would expand our WHM knowledge.

Also, kudos to Nataliia Tonyeva for her beautiful digital illustrations.
