This book was so hard and so good. Some of Stephanie's experiences echoed some I have had, which was challenging, but it was beautifully and honestly recorded. Her writing is brutal and honest and vulnerable, hopeful at times while also explaining moments of hopelessness and bad decisions. She doesn't sugar coat herself or her actions. A rough, emotional, but excellent read.

This was an amazing story to read. The author tells of her real life experience growing up and how she survived abuse, mental illness and addiction. I can tell Stephanie speaks from the heart as she shows us her zines along with her story. Quite a few times I felt like I was reading my own words

This author will always be a magical fucking creature and absolute inspiration. Absolutely mythical. Still processing and still fangirling to fully write out my thoughts. Such a haunting and empowering book.

I'm biased. Nonetheless, this book has a pulse that made me not want to set it down. Compelling, fascinating, moving, and very readable. The audio narration by the author is fantastic, and the audiobook comes with a cool 20+ page pdf of photos and drawings. She doesn't shy away from self-examination the way many memoir writers do - but while she's not always the hero, she is able to view her past self with a mature compassion, which feels needed through so many painful passages. This is a colorful story that feels very honest and real. After so much, the ending was very emotional. Of course, now I want there to be a follow-up, a sequel.
