Meh. Felt good about the summary but that doesn’t happen until page 100. I didn’t care about any of the characters and it was interesting to read about real people but that got old real fast. Also there are almost no women!!!!!!

Am I turning into a mystery reader? This book seems to have just the right amount of literate references to plot action to suit me. I must say it didn't make me want to read Dante's Inferno, but I still enjoyed it and will read Poe's Shadow ASAP.

The beginning was intriguing, but the story went absolutely nowhere, and quickly. It was all character introduction, but no plot. Nothing to move the story forward. No mention of the murder for the next 50 pages. Deadly dull.

It was good - took a bit to get into as there was some groundwork to lay for the story, but as someone who loves Dante and literature + murder mysteries it was a great read.

Harder to get into this time than when I first read it 4 years ago. still an intriguing story though.

totally boring
