Pearl did an amazing research work on the Dante American Society and the story is quite interesting but it lacks pace, especially in the first part of the book. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s a nice book to read before sleeping.

slow-paced

That book was atrocious. You can read the first chapter and the last one, everything is summarized in it anyway. In-between, it's blah-bla-bla...

It took me a little time to grow to like this book. I did not enjoy the beginning very much and I was able to power through the parts I did not enjoy, but overall I believe it was well written and interesting.

I hate giving this two stars. It was very well written and well researched. The story was interesting, yady yady. I just completely lost steam after 300 pages. It was too slow moving for me, which was not the fault of the author, but my own fault. I have a hard time following mysteries that require my attention for so many pages. Everyone and anyone else should give this book a try, though. Quite an endorsement, right?
