Zara Riddle isn't sure why she decided to apply for the librarian position in Wisteria but her good feelings about the move are cemented when she gets an amazing deal on a house for herself and her daughter. Zara was a teen mom and has worked hard to be able to afford this move. She's just having some odd things happen to her like, she suddenly knows how to cook and she's thinking odd things about the man next door.
Well, not the one that's about her age, Chet. He has magnetic green eyes and seems like a good father. No, her thoughts are about his dad, Grampy Don. It's almost as if her thoughts aren't her own.
This book could have used a little more editing. It was sometimes hard to tell when Zara was in charge and when the ghost was. Also, Chet wasn't fleshed out very well and it seemed like he was being set up for big things later in the series.

This felt quick because it didn’t get in depth into anything. It didn’t feel rushed, and it was a very light read. There is no romance, but there is the hope for some romance. It does have an ending, and then a very short teaser/cliffhanger for book 2. I really enjoyed this, and will definitely read the next in the series. Funny, spooky vibes with witches, a ghost, shifters, and a murder mystery. Not Halloween.

This book didn't work for me at all. The author was trying to recreate a Lorelei and Rory relationship and it came across as trying way too hard. Instead of laughing at the dialogue, it irritated me.

Cute book! I would have liked a few more answers at the end, but I understand it’s a series and the author was setting up for that. She has a very funny, witty writing style that kept me entertained the whole time.

Also, Zara totally reminded me of Lorelai Gilmore. :)
