Read in a day because who needs sleep when you're reading a book this good? Are we who we think we are or who others see us as? Or is who we actually shown during the hardest times? It also shows differing ways people deal with tragedy. Make sure to read the author's note at the end. This would make a great bookclub book (which is how I found out about it.)

3.75. A unique perspective of a tragic accident. I enjoyed the character development and the resolution around each sub-plot. I found it to be an easy read and was sucked into the storyline from the beginning.

Az Egyetlen szempillantás alatt egy tragédia krónikája, ahol helyet kap a szeretet, a harag, a düh, és a változás is. Mert egy ilyen baleset alapjaiban változtatja meg a résztvevő emberek személyiségét, illetve a köztük lévő dinamikát. Amellett, hogy a történet egészen egyszerűen hihetetlennek, és mégis abszolút hihetőnek hat – emiatt pedig képtelenség elszakadni tőle –, úgy gondolom, hogy a szomorú téma ellenére mégis egy nagyon erős pozitív, életigenlő üzenetet hordoz. Hogy az elhunytak nem vágyódnak vissza, az ittmaradóknak pedig meg kell tanulniuk együtt élni a múlttal. Még akkor is, ha az erőviszonyok finoman szólva sem voltak igazságosak.

Vannak dolgok az életben, melyek alapjaiban rengetik meg a világunkat. Ami miatt lesz egy előtte, és egy utána. Nem szükségszerűen kell balesetnek, vagy gyásznak lennie. Mert picit távolabbi perspektívából nézve az Egyetlen szempillantás alatt is ezt próbálja közvetíteni, hogy nem kell szeretni a változást. De muszáj belerázódni az új ritmusba, még akkor is, ha nehéz, vagy fáj.

It’s very rare that reading a book moves me to tears but I found myself choking back sobs many times throughout this heartbreaking story. There were a few pieces that I wish the author elaborated on but there was no way I was giving this less than 5 stars. Grab your tissues for this one.

Wasn’t one of my favorite books but it was an interesting prospective on life.
