I love these books. I know they are repetitive, not terribly creative, and very unrealistic, but they are such easy breezy entertaining reads that it's hard not to love them.

review on Gone Pecan

So, it’s another caper with Kate and Nick, who are forced to work together despite the fact that she is an FBI agent and he is a master criminal. They’re so much fun together.

This time around, Nick and Kate must draw out a drug lord who is in hiding and has recently undergone complete reconstructive surgery. So they first must find this dude, then they need to con him, and finally implicate him in the many and varied criminal activities that he has been involved in, thus getting a friend/colleague’s of Nick the closure she seeks. I do love the insane and unbelievable lengths that Nick and Kate go through for the con jobs. I always love reading about con-people that set up impossible scenarios to get what they want (see also: The Heist Society and Also Known As series). What’s great about this series is the imaginative situations that our MCs pull off, the fantastic characters, and the fast pace.

I am a big fan of Janet Evanovich because her books are smart and so funny and the characters are believable, though the situations they become involved in can be a bit far-fetched (though that is what makes the books so fun). This series, and particularly Nick and Kate, make me happy. This is definitely the book you’re looking for if you want light-hearted and you don’t want to use a lot of brain power. I do wish that the story would expand a bit to draw out a larger plot throughout the series, but I know it will get there. Now the books seem to be a bit stand-alone, and they are, but I’m looking for an overall arc that will ultimately bring Nick and Kate together, though that now seems impossible, and maybe a big bad that they cannot bring down in 300 pages. Also, more kisses, please.

Another great book from Janet and Lee! I'm hoping for a fourth! I feel like there was definitely room for another.

I like the characters, but there is no development. Plus the plot is very anticlimactic and episodic. Not sure if I'll read more in this series.
