Really plot heavy without feeling to fast paced. Would definitely read a sequel.

Loved this graphic novel! It's like Call the Midwife meets The Count of Monte Cristo plus every orphan origin story you've ever loved.

Queen of the Sea is a great graphic novel. I enjoyed the story and the classic feel that it has. It is lightly based on Elizabeth 1 and her sister, Mary. We follow a girl who grows up on an island with nuns. We see her grow as a character. The way these character relationships change and develop over these pages. I enjoyed the way the royalty, religion, and government plays into this book. The art in the book is simple and have this classic art feeling that fits so well, I like the color tones and the vibe it puts off. However, I did find part of the story slow but I had fun reading it; finished it in one day.

I was given a copy, however, this is my 100% honest review.

This was a fantastic book! The artwork was gorgeous and the story was fascinating as well. I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of historical fiction type books. This one would be right up your alley!

Absolutely beautiful art and a solid well-developed narrative. It's clearly for younger audiences but it doesn't talk down to them and can still be engaging for older readers as well. A joy to look at, the art is not over-the-top or highly detailed, but it exudes such charm and life you can't help but stare. The attention to detail in terms of costuming and daily life was delightful, and I found myself immersed very quickly. The plot was fairly straightforward, but interesting enough to keep me engaged, it was very well-executed and I became quite fond of all the characters.
A thoroughly enjoyable read!
