After hearing the "buzz" about this book on a few national news shows, I thought I might enjoy it. Unfortunately, this story did not "do it" for me at all. The story was way too much like a porny-version of Twilight for me; The female lead character is abused by the male lead character, and has absolutely no brains in her head to see that this is wrong and she should leave. She has a nice male friend (with a "J" name even) who would be better suited to her but her jealous domineering boyfriend won't let her near him.

I couldn't relate to this weak, simpering woman and I wanted to bit the crap out of her abusive boyfriend, who the author painted as an angelic idol to be worshipped in this messed-up take on submissive relationships.

Probably the worst part about it is that what little interesting plot points exist in this book are not resolved!! The ending leaves you with a trite "end of part one" so that you will be forced to spend more money to gain a sense of resolution. Well, no thank you! I'd rather not spend anymore time in this messed-up universe.

I have absolutely no hate for this book, but the thing that probably bothered me the most is the fact that there is sex everywhere, in every word, page, syllable. This books spreads sex.

Now, one minor thing that I hate here is the fact that there is this SM sex, ropes, bondage and other. I just felt uncomfortable reading about it, it's not my scene, not my smut style (lololol).

Why am I even reviewing this?

So yeah.

I started reading this book when it first came out, but lost my interest fairly quickly.
Then I saw the movie and it left me wanting more. I wanted to get to know what was inside of Grey' s mind.
It's not written to perfection but I did enjoy the books this time.
I'm not sure if I liked Anastasia all that much, I felt that she thought too little of herself. Christian Gray was a really puzzling character and it left me wondering what made him need the things that he needed, if that makes sense.
