The main character is super judgy and annoying. I was reading it for the setting, but that doesn’t feel genuine either. It feels like a super immature character.

wow i loved this book.
it has self discovery, murder,mystery....
i really can't discribe it.
Maggie, is a character i can relate to. as a nearly 30 person myslef. i must be reading these at the right tme of my life. lol

Alt doesn't seem to have a good grasp on a few of the novel writing basics. I think I would have liked this one more if she'd just learned how to build character relationships better, and develop her characters more. For example, her main character in the span of just a few pages gets fired from her job, mysteriously meets her future employer who immediately offers her a job, and then is willing to stake her life and reputation on the innocence of this complete stranger. Ugh... I actually didn't really "get" the main character. Maybe I'll read the next book and see how it goes...

Also, the dialogue was funky. I can't put my finger on it, but I read it aloud a few times and it just didn't sound authentic.

It was okay, I'll probably give book #2 a try.

A cozy mystery with a hint of fantasy, this was an interesting start to a new series for me.

This was a cute littl read. Not a lot of action, and I had a hard time keeping focused on it. But it was an ok read!

I really liked this book. The character was interesting and I love how grounded all of the 'witchcraft' and all ended up being.

I picked this up for some easy, fluff reading to counteract work stress. It started with a lot of promise, but the plot just never got terribly interesting, Maggie became increasingly annoying, and Tom was annoying from the start. I don't think I'll be continuing with this series.

I enjoyed this first book of the Bewitching Mystery series. I liked how Maggie learned about Felicity and about herself. I look forward to the next book in the series, A Charmed Death.

Not amazing, but a cute, quick read. It does set things up for one of my big pet peeves as of late - a love triangle. Seriously done with love triangles. I also didn't get a really strong feel for Maggie as a character, even though the story was being told in first person by Maggie. She just didn't have a very strong voice, I suppose. I might check out more of this series, but I'm certainly in no rush.

Cosy and quaint murder mystery series I read while hibernating from the world on a cold and rainy day, wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire. If you're looking for a whodunnit with a paranormal theme (without vampires, werewolves, or shapeshifters), a little bit of magic and no blood and guts murders, this should be on your 'to read' list.

Maggie, the main character, is just trying to find her place in this world when she stumbles upon a new job she loves. Alas, her new boss Felicity, a self-proclaimed witch, ends up in the middle of a murder investigation and Maggie's deep belief that Felicity didn't have anything to do with the murder, leads Maggie into the path of danger and the hot Deputy Sheriff.

Looking forward to the next rainy day and the next installment of this series.
