Dork Diaries is a book series recommended for pre-teen and early-teen girls(or perhaps open-minded boys),following the story of a socially inept and dorky girl named Nikki Maxwell and her daily school and family dramas. Nikki's day to day life is filled with obstacles posed by her antagonist and nemesis,Mackenzie Hollister who goes out of her way to cause trouble for Nikki and her friends.Dork Diaries has since publication became a worldwide bestseller and the protagonist,a symbol of the importance of letting your inner dork shine without succumbing to peer pressure.
Loved it.Kinda of a disappointment considering I was expecting a lot more action with regards to Nirandon.The one thing which killed it for me was that the author is clearly not a competent writer when writing boys' dialogue.Come on,half of the things Brandon says wouldn't even be thought about by boys.His dialogue resembles a girl's so much that he might as well change his gender.Nevertheless,I enjoy this series despite Nikki's constant struggles with one main issue-Mackenzie.That being said,I still love it and will continue.
I grew up with these books of course I love them. Sadly the seventh books and all others after her are not translated in Bulgarian and by the looks of it won't be happening any time soon. I am conflicted... Should I wait for the translation or should I just order them. But reading half the series in one language and then in other shouldn't be okay, right?
