Okay, this is a different kind of story but I liked it. A LOT.
It's disturbing, challenging and a total downer in the sense that this is real, there are people like the protagonist, people who never got a chance in life, who were never cared for and were left to fend for themselves without a second thought.
It's quite obviously, a homage to 'Of Mice and Men' and I enjoyed (?) its sense of isolation, defeat and sorrow from the beginning.
It's not your typical King/Bachman but it's a great story even with its hopeless ending.

A mediocre book by King standards. But a good read nonetheless. Reads like a book you'd pick up at the airport. But overall has some good portions. Nothing I would recommend unless you're doing a King binge
