Didn't like Blaze as much as I did with the previous books that I read from King, but I tell you that you should give it a try. Why I haven't liked it? I don't consider something "nice" a book with many pieces of swearing fragments nor with a very very dumb character. For me Blaze's dumbness was something way too exagerated. I mean, being dumb in some cases means you are funny, but he was the type of annoying.

Second time reading and still hit me as hard as the first time. I love this book, one of only a few to make me cry.
I have a new favorite criminal. How can you not fall in love with Blaze after reading this novel?

A nostalgic and heart-wrenching story, and a tip of the hat to Of Mice And Men. Pretty good overall.
I first read "Blaze" by Richard Bachman (Stephen King's pseudonym) in 2008 and recall loving it. Re-reading it many years later, I still love it. The character of Blaze is so memorable. His circumstances are heart breaking and we want to cheer on this unlikely hero even as he plots his crime. Most of his actions come from his good heart. The monsters in this story are the people who have mistreated him. Again, Stephen King is so great at creating memorable characters that stick with us for years.

Very slow in the beginning and kind of boring, but picks up and moves swiftly in the second half.
