DID NOT FINISH: 38%

Started off interesting but got to be rather slow and just didn't keep my interest at all. And the MMC was too much of a drag.

„I’m an idiot, and I’ll make mistakes, but I will always come back to you. Because I know what I’m fighting for. You make me happy.“

This was such a sweet book,i loved the whole character develop through the book and that the author showed how he struggles as a single dad. Delilah and rowan really deserve each other but what i hated was that she already had a crush on him at the beginning,i wished she would’ve realized her feeling for him through the book.

thank you netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

DID NOT FINISH: 51%

This book had so much potential, but it ended up being repetitive and monotonous, and almost boring. 50% in and nothing has happened so far. feels like a slice of life book with no conflict, just people being in their heads all the time. Rowan's struggles with fatherhood feel valid but somehow also feel like weaponized incompetence. The single dads club is non-existent apart from a couple convos with the other single dads. All in all, a disappointing read.

I got most of the way through this and then skipped to the end. It took me 8 days just to do that, which is a long time.

I was not attached to either character and their "woe is me, my parents sucked" attitudes.

There was so much "I want this but don't deserve it/or shouldn't do it" over and over again, it became monotonous.

There was no real depth to me, while the parental trauma was "deep" the relationships and people weren't.

It was just okay.
