4 or 4.5, not sure yet. Such a good and quick audiobook! You start out thinking that each person involved is pretty normal, then slowly realize just how toxic each of the main characters are. Really enjoyed it and was easy to listen to and get lost in the plot

Both of the last 2 books I read mentioned Calgary.. which is in my home province. Weird.

The Drowning Woman was one of my best recent reads so I was very excited for this one, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. The POV changes were confusing at time, and some of them (like Max) felt unnecessary. None of the twist reveals felt surprising or exciting to me, and the entire premise of
a drug fuelled surprise couples swap resulting in an accidental pregnancy with questionable paternity
didn’t feel realistic. I also feel we got a lot of Max’s backstory without it really going anywhere, other than to explain how they ended up living on the island.
I enjoyed the short chapters and writing style, and somewhat of a commentary on influencer culture (Freya was so unlikeable) and parasocial relationships- which Low seemed to have despite actually knowing Freya IRL.
