I enjoyed the general plot and chain of events, but the writing style was a bit too cliche and telly for me. Throughout the book, Koontz tells us exactly what each character’s personality is and exactly how each character is feeling with minimal physical descriptions or clues through which readers might be able to draw their own conclusions about the character. Because of this, I found it difficult to relate to the characters on a believable, human level.

I don't think I have much to add that others haven't said. Koontz writes a solid thriller. It's not high art, but it's fun escapism. The ending was a bit over-the-top, but it was a fun ride.

I went into this expecting a horror story that took place in an amusement park. Surprisingly, though the park turned out to play a much smaller role than I anticipated, I really enjoyed this. Not really anything new or groundbreaking, but a fun thriller that didn't follow my predictions, which is always nice.
