Meh. The first story was boring, the second was okay but made Romanov a total asshole... And the last one was just all around over-the-top terrible. Two stars for some of the art and voice of reason Daredevil.

All interesting stories, I'd never heard of yelena before so it was nice to be introduced to her. However I can't give this collection a high rating due to how sexual the female characters are drawn, especially yelena's uniform (why would any spy uniform have her abdomen exposed?) and it was VERY obvious neither wore a bra so we could see how perfect their breasts are.

PSA: this is definitely for ADULT readers (heavy violence and sexual nature). This had 3 different artwork styles, but they differentiated enough from each other that it wasn't too much of a shock when you switched between the stories included. All 3 series included are heavily focused on Yelena Belova and her life goal to become worthy of the Black Widow moniker. The runs they chose really showcase Yelena coming into her own in a coming-of-age type way while also showcasing bits of the dysfunctional sisterly love that the Black Widow film seems to be touching base on.

Book four for the year complete! This book was a surprise from my fiancé because of my obsession with Yelena Belova, who is heavily featured in this series. I’m still working on my other books in my stack, but decided to take a break to see Yelena in action in the comics. I wasn’t impressed with the first storyline featured in the series, but the second storyline with Yelena and Black Widow switching bodies/faces was very twisted yet very well-done. Really focused in on psychological warfare and it’s impact on a person. The third storyline was interesting. I wasn’t expecting a sex club to be featured, but it definitely shows how dark and sadistic the Red Room is to get agents to do what they need to do as a spy. Overall, I think the character of Yelena is well represented and well-written. I’m hoping with her new role in the MCU more comics will feature her as a key player.
