The mystery and suspenseful vibe from this book captivated me so much. I kept waiting for what was going to happen next and honestly, the ending is not what I expected at all. The pacing was done so well and I absolutely loved the transitions throughout time. The historical components really showed the author actually doing the research to bring this beautiful story to life and I truly enjoyed the important themes of nature, family, and enjoying all lenses of life whether through magic or through realism.

The prose is also stunning which to some may feel more cumbersome to read but I felt it really allowed both the real world and that of Whisperwood to come to life.
