Reading the final book in a series is hard. You want to read and you don't. Especially when the author likes to make her characters suffer, monumental suffering and hardship that will shape them and mould them into something new. Something strong and resilient, able to take on any and all threats to the ones they love. Sully and Elanore are two such characters. They have grown and evolved. Their love is a palpable thing. Something you can feel in your soul. The evil they must stuff out is horrendous and will stop at nothing to make their suffering ad painful as possible. They will risk everything to save each other and you will not want their story to end. I know I didn't. I cried and cried and at times I just wanted it to end. But I persevered and stuck it out and it was one of the authors best works. I am in awe of this story and the depth of the characters love for each other. Thank you for this epic story of pain and healing, heartbreak and love. It will forever be remembered and treasured.

Loved the ending!!!
Okay so this ended better than I anticipated! It was a roller coaster of a book though and Eleanor took it like a champ. Between Cal, Jess, Drake, and most of all Sully I’m amazed she remained sane. She was definitely a goddess supreme. Loved how it tied in Q at the in with Tess. I’m a little at a book hangover on this one...rung me out but in a good way. Good series, great writing! This author is amazing! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the first part of the book, it was exciting and I was never sure what exactly would happen and how it would go down but that part ended a little too quickly for my liking. The bad guy was defeated kind of fast, at least in my opinion and I'm sad to say that after that it wasn't that much of an thrilling book anymore. I still enjoyed reading it, of course since it's a book by Pepper Winters but I also can't say that it totally gripped me.
I've said it before in a previous review but three star books are so hard to review and I feel like that again. So I'll talk about some of the things I did love in this book. The characters, for one, were amazing. I still love Eleanor and Sully so damn much. Their chemistry definitely wasn't any less this time around and espcially Eleanor was so badass in this last book. I also enjoyed reading about Jess and Cal's budding relationship. I would love to read a book about them.
And then there was the writing. Pepper Winters has one of the most unique writing styles ever and I can't help but love it. She has such a way with words. There even was a chapter without any words at all. Just let that sink in. Anyways, the writing was equally amazing in Fifth a Fury and I couldn't get enough of that.
Overall, Fifth a Fury was a good ending that I for sure liked but it wasn't my favorite of the series, to be completely honest. I just felt like wanting... more. I'm sure every reader knows this feeling with at least a couple of books. And with this one I had more of a plot dislike than anything else. The characters and writing was amazing as always. I just wasn't as hooked by the story in general anymore.

And it's done! Finished this series and enjoyed every book. Here they eliminate any who threats, do right by any wrongs and Eleanor is the reason Sully is now who he is. Sweet finale to the series. Sad to see it end but enjoyed it so much.
Fifth a Fury Is the final installment of the Goddess Isles series if you do not count the two post-series novellas. This book played out completely differently than I expected, and I really liked where Pepper went with this!
My final thoughts on the series as a whole:
Overall - 4.5 Stars!
The Goddess Isles series is so unique. I’ve never read anything like it. Yes, it’s a slave/captor romance, but it is so much more! I would love to explain some of the themes, but I’ll say for now that it is like a cross between Unseen Messages and Monsters in the dark, with 2 major themes added to it.
First of all, Goddess Isles is SPICY AF. There is a lot of spice, and Pepper did not skimp on detail! Believe it or not, the spice is really important to the plot!
I really love Pepper’s inclusion of animals in this story. Several of her series have birds in them and their significance seems to differ each time based on the books plot. This series is no different.
While Goddess Isles is a contemporary romance, it takes some liberties on what is realistically possible in the world we live in. There are some elements that one could potentially consider science-fiction, where others might consider these liberties as something that could actually happen.
Eleanor was such an easy FMC to love. When I say she is perfection, I mean literal perfection. I cannot think of a single moment in the series where I thought she should have spoken differently, acted differently, etc. Every single one of her actions made sense and that made Eleanor all the more lovable to me. Her empathy toward others was so admirable, and her beliefs about her own self-worth made her a complete force to be reckoned with.
Sully had to grow on me. His inner monologue could occasionally feel repetitive because he is one of the most stubborn assholes I have ever met. He sees things in a very black-and-white way, and that just doesn’t work when love is on the line. I grew to love Sully a lot, but it did take me time to warm up to him.
This series has non-con and dub-con. Generally, I am not a fan of non-con, but Pepper wrote this in a way that made sense to me, and I could believe in the love story between the characters. If that doesn't speak to her skill as a writer, I don't know what does.
I would highly recommend reading Pepper's Monsters in the Dark series before reading this one, and honestly, her Indebted series too. One of the fantasy novellas contains several details from her Indebted series, and if you are one to avoid spoilers, you won't want to read those novellas without reading those two series first.

Ok my mood told me I needed to read some dark stuff and I knew Pepper Winters is dark. So before you dive into her books….Read trigger warnings!!!
I read this series on Galatea, but Pepper Winters publishes her books elsewhere and is available on Amazon (buy) or Kobo Plus (monthly subscription or buy the book).
Im not going to dive into summaries, I will focus on what i felt after reading this series, and it IS CONTINUOUS books, you cant read them as standalones. HOLY FFFFFF IN MOLY! 🤯 when i first started this book months back, i actually wasnt in the right mood for it because it WAS SO DARK and I had to stop, but I finally picked it back up and DAM this series is SPICY 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 as long as you’re not triggered by some content and its VERY morally grey stuff!
I mean, if you read the synopsis (swipe my pics) it doesnt give a lot away because each book is just so seemless from one to the next. Its really this huge saga. I read about a book a day so it took me about a week to read through all five and dammmmm 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 😅 ok fine, near the end, i did feel like it dragged on 5-10 chapters too long 🤪. And the book isn’t perfect, but it was sure better than others!
And even though you know the MMC did some shadddyyyy things you cant help but love their love story! So, if you’re open to smut and morally grey and DARK stuff well any pepper winters book will fulfill those NEEDS 😉
Series Review:
What a conclusion conclusion to this exotic and enthralling story of a fantasy peddler and his latest prize. This is Pepper at her best- sensual, devastating, entrancing, and unforgettable. Heart pounding, heart breaking, and heart uplifting until the very end.
Like so many Pepper stories, the journey begins with a kidnapping. But, this is world unlike any we’ve ever seen- exotic, erotic, imaginative, and sensual. Our heroine Eleanor is abducted and sold to our anti-hero Sully by traffickers- transported away to his private island of sin (and cute animals) where she’s forced into an owned woman contract of prostitution, taking an elixir that consumes her mind and body. Despite being entirely powerless and at the mercy of a corrupt and depraved man, she’s no weakling- she’s got fire and strength in spades, and finds her power in subtle ways. And soon she starts to find some power in her dynamic with Sully- the man she should abhor but who somehow has become the man she burns for.
The setting is unlike any other we’ve seen- Goddess Isles is a tropical haven for rich and depraved men, a place where they can fulfill their darkest fantasies with owned goddesses- women high on the mysterious elixir that makes them burn for their tormentors. And Sully is the lord of the island, the purveyor of paradise. And Eleanor was supposed to be just another acquisition- another goddess to add to his menagerie. As this series unfolds, though, we see that Eleanor can never just be his possession- she challenges everything that he thinks he knows, that he has made. With each book, we get deeper into the man that is Sully Sinclair- what has led to this hard, ruthless, arrogant, and possessive man. And that is the magic of Pepper Winters- a man who for all intents and purposes is a monster, we find ourselves drawn to him- just as Eleanor is- against all reason. At this point in the story, we now see the vulnerable and lonely man beneath the bravado. The man Eleanor begins to expose, the man that she can perhaps heal if he’ll just let her. Only now that we’ve begun to explore a dynamic of them being in love, Eleanor is at risk from more than just Sully. And Sully will do anything to have her, save her, possess her heart and protect her from all danger. She’s saved him with her fiery and beautiful heart, but can he be the man she needs? And together can they defeat the evil they are facing?
This most certainly is not a series for the faint of heart- the premise of the series itself should tell you there are dark and triggering elements. The last leg of this story is BRUTAL in places, and your heart will hurt. The chemistry is straight FIRE- intense, erotic. Peppers write erotic and sensual dark romance like no other - you know you are going to get some HOT steamy times, passionate couplings full of unbridled passion and conflicted emotions. Raw lust, explosive intensity, and so many heart wrenching emotions combined.
By the end of the first boxed set, you'll be desperate, frustrated, enamored, and heartbroken- Sully and Eleanor have a long road ahead, and you know that it will not be easy. Their love is a veritable hurricane, and the storm is still raging. But it is a story that is enthralling to the very last, an epic love story full of passion, pain, heartbreak, and redemption. My favorite work from Pepper to date- the ultimate dark and depraved but stunningly beautiful fantasy!

This book had me struggling to breathe the whole time. It felt like Pepper Winters had her hand around my throat and squeezing never letting up. I cried and wanted to throw things.
Sully had me crazy through the whole book. Jinx she is such a strong woman. She really came into her own.
Sullie gave me a hard run at my favorite male hero. Dang it may even be he surpasses Ren... and everyone knows of my love for him.
Y’all, I never saw that one coming. This really is one romance of a lifetime. SO SO GOOD!

This series was so amazing! I loved reading it every bit. It was the perfect conclusion so Sully and Eleanor’s story. I loved Sully’s redemption and Eleanor’s strength. I couldn’t stop reading until I had finished the book in it’s entirety.
