A German student is tasked with infiltrating an all-male Cambridge boxing club to uncover it's dark secrets. Follow Hans as he attempts to join this club, solve the mystery and keep his head on straight.

I really enjoyed this book. My first time reading a novel translated from German. However, it was hard to rate - it's a challenging but capitvating read. The writing/translation and character development was well done, but different to what I am used to. On review I see how the issues could have been handled more delicately, but I'm not sure how much of that to attribute to "lost in translation" and flaws of the way the characters themselves think.  I still can't believe how underrated this book is, I was hooked from the first 20 pages and despite being a hard subject matter to do well, the mystery element meant I wanted to keep on reading. I read it in two days, around a full time job.

Despite thinking it's underrated, and having enjoyed it, I have a hard time thinking of who I can recommend this to. A strange mix. Kind of a paperback fiction chick lit version of a mystery book dealing with class and entitled men.

Read the trigger warnings and if you're ready for a quick, mysterious, challenging read, that you don't mind looking at critically, give it a go.

First of all, thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportuntitu to discover Takis Würger !

I loved this book : it had everything I wanted in a book : a brotherhood, a love story and some dirty secrets.

The main character is not at all like the MCs I'm used to and this adds up to the story : the way he feels and the way he deals with situations got me intrigued!

I only have two regrets : not meeting Alex enough through the pages and the end, not being as powerful as I expected it to be.

But overall, I got hooked and couldn't put the book down so I'm giving it a 4.5 stars rating !

Gespaltene Meinung/
Es wäre so viel besser gewesen Alex als Hauptprotagonistin zu haben. Wie sie die ganze Geschichte wahrnimmt und einfädelt zusammen mit ihrem inneren Gefühlschaos
