This was ok but not my favourite classic. I feel like I wanted to see more hints of what Hyde got up to in the earlier section but it was short and easy and an interesting take on the two sided coin of a person’s character, the balance between the good and the bad parts, so I would still recommend. I actually preferred the short story called The Bottle Imp which was added as an extra at the end of the edition I had in comparison but I think that may be because I gravitate more to elements of otherworldliness.

the idea is so good but the writing is genuinely confusing to keep up with
Minor: Child abuse
I'm sad I didn't get the full experience because pop culture spoiled the ending. Still, it was an enjoyable and very interesting read. The last chapter was still fully enjoyable so I wont spoil that for anyone ;)

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde stands out as one of my all-time favourites, a novel whose impact endures every time I revisit it. The prose is undeniably captivating, but what truly sets this novel apart is its masterful suspense. Even if you know the plot, the tension is so expertly crafted that it grips you every single time.

3.25 stars - The author accomplishes a lot within a short amount of time. For some reason, the audiobook I listened to was a study guide version and I really liked the metaphor for addiction that was pointed out in the analysis section. I didn’t think of that while I was listening to the story, but looking back it’s an interesting way to interpret the novel.
I can’t help but wish the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was less well known, I feel like the last chapter would have been more shocking and impactful then. Knowing the ending made it hard to rate this higher than 3 stars.

so awesome and my edition has like 30 pages of critical articles at the end… will have to go back to that later this week
