Greg writes a report about what happened last summer but his teacher doesn't believe him. So, naturally, he digs up the camera to prove him wrong.

Summary of Review: Book wasn't great. Every character made stupid decisions and where then surprised by the outcome of it. Also, they forgot the events of the first book of this series and just did the mistakes all over again.

Every character there was so stupid. Just taking the camera to prove a point instead of just leaving it where it was. And also, being too stupid to hide the camera properly. And why was Greg so flabbergasted when Mr. Sour didn't believe him? It's all his fault for getting an F, but remember: Revenge is sweet. Greg is just a stupid boy who blames everyone but him for the things that happen. Also, I didn't read the first book but apparently the girl disappeared 'cause her photo got ripped apart. So why, oh why, has Greg the idea of doing it AGAIN? Did he not learn his lesson. Does he has amnesia? Is there even a single brain cell left in his brain?

The book wasn't spooky or scary or anything it was supposed to be. It was just annoying and there were so many times I wanted to hit the fictional character for being so stupid.

So, you almost die because of an evil camera, you know it's a story most people won't believe, and yet you write a "true story" paper about it and then decide to take a picture of the teacher because he didn't believe your unbelievable story... Sounds legit! :-p

2.5 - annoyed that this book didn't pick up from where the first one left off. Also, the fatphobia was incredibly unnecessary.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here, where the sequel of Goosebumps stories is always going to be bad for me. Once again we suffer from inconsistencies going from book one to book two. It'd be different if these were different characters that discovered the same camera, but it isn't. It's the same people. But somehow, it's almost as if they've completely forgotten everything from the first book.

There was also just way too much stupidity going around in this book. I get it, there's always going to be a level of stupidity to even cause the scenario/conflict to happen in the first place - especially for horror. But this was just TOO much for my taste, especially for a sequel where you'd think the kids would have learned at least SOMETHING from the first time. Also, the writing wasn't as solid in this one.

I screamed through this whole book, between the inconsistencies, the retconning, the not mentioning certain characters or scenes cliffhangered on us in the first book, and the bad case of stupidity. The only reason why I gave it two stars is for a couple of scenes I enjoyed enough to warrant the two star rating.
