Interesting read about family relationships, and the dynamics between the older and younger generations. I particularly liked Jane and Gretchen’s different lives and perspectives.

Slow and not much depth. Just talked about the characters of this family. No real dilemma or plot.
Giving this book four stars might be a bit generous, but it was a good summer read. Didn't hurt that it takes place in and around Chicago. Centers on a Cubs-loving, and perhaps a bit dysfunctional, family that owns a restaurant in Oak Park. Author worked at Hackneys on Harms so she knows a bit about restaurant work and that part was entertaining. Perfect book to bring to the beach.
2.5 stars
+like her writing, love family dramas and flawed, realistic characters
-didn’t like the content as much, too many nuances that I didn’t enjoy and felt like I had to glide past or overlook, which caused me to rate it lower.
