Slow book, that I just couldn’t get into. The characters are so so, not exciting and not ones you truly root for.

This was a cute read.

As far as I can remember, every time I read a Jennifer Close book I enjoy it, but I never seem to celebrate her as much as other authors I enjoy. That ends here! I loved Marrying the Ketchups for its insightful writing about families, relationships, aging and politics. I will miss the Sullivan family.

I just loved this. A story about family that gave me all the laughs and feels of Parenthood (tv show and movie). The simple sarcasm was perfect (“every word in the English language was stupid”). Adored Teddy, Gretchen and Jane (and Riley!). And the grandparents Bud and Rose- my grandparents were Bud and Jan

I wish I had DNFed this. Nothing happened. The characters are annoying and whiny.

Reminded me of growing up with my siblings and cousins. I loved all of the Cubs and Chicago talk.

Light and fun book about a restaurant family. Lagged in parts and ending felt like it left several loose threads.
emotional funny lighthearted reflective sad medium-paced

Not sure how this book got on my radar, but i am so glad it did! I thought it would be a straightforward book about regulars at a restaurant- it was so much more and better!! Messy families, grief, searching for self in adulthood and trying to fit in while the world seems to be self destructing.
Really enjoyed this

This book would have been perfect for someone with opposite book tastes as me! I was intrigued by the title and the world of the family restaurant business. However, for someone who doesn’t like to be reminded while reading of everything going on in politics, this book just wasn’t it for me. I didn’t care for all the language (it really was a bit much…) or the over sexualization of every character. I wanted at least one person to root for.

Thank you to Penguin Random House for a copy in exchange for my honest review!
