Full disclosure, I think I wanted to read this book because I liked the title a lot. But also, it promised to be a family drama and was likened to that of J. Ryan Stradal's writing, which I love. But to be honest, it didn’t live up the cool name or the Stradal comparison.

The premise of this book is that three crazy events happened all within the span of two weeks. The Cubs won the World Series, Trump won the election, and BUd, the founder of the famous Chicago-based restaurant JP Sullivan’s, dropped dead. Then, all hell broke loose within the multi-generational Sullivan family.

unfortunately, i had a hard time caring about any of it. Maybe it’s because i read this fresh off a different, run-of-the-mill family drama, but I was bored. 

I also felt like it was a little too political for my tastes. Like, I read books to escape real life; I don’t need to hear the same rants I can hear from my dad on a Saturday night in my contemporary fiction novels, ya know? So, anyway. Probably gonna steer clear of family dramas for a bit, even if they do have cool titles.

Cringe cringe cringe cringe cringe!

It feels like someone put Trump into a romance. Can we please just get over this guy. We see it everyday in the news. I don’t want this in romance books.

I wish I could say the book could be a 4 stars if that was eliminated but the writing was all over the place. This author should find a new job.
