Sleeping Dogs Lie is a fun, quick-paced novella, which is a good and bad thing. It's about Shelby, a dog-walker in Northern California, who after finishing up a trip to the park with one of her regular dogs, accidentally stumbles on her client's dead body when she brings back the husky. As the detective starts investigating the homicide, it soon becomes clear that the victim isn't as squeaky-clean as his persona led you to believe.

I was pretty engrossed in the novella so I was disappointed when it came to an end -- almost abruptly if you will! I definitely could have continued spending time with the characters and learning more about their ticks.
