This book did what I wanted it to do -

Only thing is that the eating disorder like condition of Selena was handled very poorly, I don't think it was in any way a necessary element

One of Frame's early works, Heart of the Pack is a mostly enjoyable read despite a couple of issues.
Like others before me, I had a hard time accepting some peculiarities of shifter physiology and cringed at some of the leads' most intimate exchanges. This ruined my reading experience a little.
Your mileage may vary if you're not likely to be bothered by such trivialities.

This is an honest review thanks to NetGalley. I had never read this author before, but I loved this book. I love paranormal romances, but something about these two characters that makes your heart melt. Having Caden fall for a human was perfect, and the love and journey that they went through was enthralling. I want another book in this series, I will be definitely reading this author again.

I haven't read a paranormal for a while so I was looking for a good lesfic paranormal book. BTW I really want to read a good vampire novel, so if anyone has any recommendations for a vampire book (preferably lesfic) then please hit me up! While I really enjoy the paranormal genre, recently its been very hit or miss for me. While this was a very easy read and enjoyable book, it can't say it is the most breathtaking or original take on werewolves. It leans much harder on the side of predictable and insta-love for the romance, but it is still undeniably a fun and entertaining book. So I guess if you are looking for pure entertainment factor rather than technical aspects and a unique plot, then this would still be a great book to pick up.

I think the writing of the book in general was quite stiff and hard to really enjoy. While I don't mind in general if the writing was like this, it also translated to the romance. The romance between Kaden and Selena felt a bit forces and very much tell rather than show. Especially once they ended up together, everything just went super fast and any aspect of believability was kinda thrown out the window. In saying all these things, it might seem like I didn't like the romance but that really wasn't true at all. Even though it was very predictable and felt artificial in places, some part of me just really enjoyed it and rooted for the couple anyway. This is the reason why I would still recommend this book and enjoyed it overall, despite finding that it had quite a few technical and plotting problems.

There is a wider story in this book with villains and the like. The paranormal aspects (purely werewolves if I remember correctly) was good but again quite predictable. Probably if you are a die-hard paranormal fan, the lack of development and complexity with the paranormal aspects may be a bit frustrating. But if you just want an enjoyable, light-hearted and easy read then I would still recommend this one.

I appreciate Frame for her consistency. You know what you're getting with her novels; generally a good time and a happy ending. Also, who doesn't love werewolves/human romances.

There were definitely a few rough patches in this book. It's interesting to me that I truly loathe the uber Alpha Male trope in erotica, but I mind the Alpha Female significantly less. I still don't love it, but it's fine. Interestingly the relationship between Dante and Eden ready very like they were the protagonists in a previous romance that this was the expansion/sequel to, which is a common tactic in romance/erotica series. I didn't really look into it any farther, but this is titled #1 and I'm just going to believe it. I saw another reviewer say that they preferred Frame's newer books as she's grown a lot as a writer since this book, and that might encourage me to go read one of them instead.

I didn't care for the sex scenes in particular, which is, uh, kind of the point for erotica. And you might call this romance instead, and that's really your prerogative, I am no arbiter on the subject. The ending was downright cheesy (but alright). However, the description of the dominant wolves' cropped trousers, bare feet, and cloaks just made me think of hobbits and I couldn't get that out of my mind.

Don't take the book (too) seriously and just revel in the wish fulfillment fantasy of having a hot lesbian rancher take care of your every need. Also don't be squicked out when she calls you 'breedable', like, multiple times. Defaulting to Lexa Luthor's rating/content warning system, there's G!p/Enl*rged Cl*t & fpreg.
