It started out great, but went a bit downhill for me. I didn't really care for the mystic stuff.
challenging fast-paced

This book fulfills the stereotype about romance that non romance readers have. I didn't hate the situation the characters found themselves in, and I liked the friend group. However, this was so insta love, and the conflict with Zach was just over the top and not very believable. Also, do these characters not know how biology works? They are together less than a week, and she has to know her period is due (not to mention that she tells him it is next to impossible for her to get pregnant) , but she is sooooo disappointed that she isn't pregnant when her period starts at the end of their week together. I am glad the author didn't go down that route, but seriously, the whole thing was just a bit ridiculous. The story would have been better without the romance, which being a romance book is saying something.

Actually, I didn't finish it. I figured by page 55 they were about to have sex with only knowing each other for about 12 hours or so and most of that she was sleeping. Then by page 97 she was telling him that she loved him. Plus other things going on in the book, it was distracting and not written well at all. This is the first book I read (or tried to read) from this author. I will look at reviews before I pick up another of Kay Hooper's books.
adventurous emotional relaxing fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The series is getting better. The instalove is a bit much. What saves this book is the appearance of the gang, especially Raven and Kelsey. I am finding that this series seriously holds up even though they were written in the 80s.
