3.5 stars - I am happy I discovered this well-written detective series. I like Roy Grace and the way he leads his team. The premise of this book is very intriguing and the ending had me on the edge of my seat. I would have given the book a higher rating, but some of the graphic scenes about human traffickers were hard for me to read. It is a horrendous, very real situation, but I think that point could have been communicated without all of the details.

People trafficking, organ trafficking, horrible industry so unsavoury content in this book...however...page turning and a definite ramp up in tension

It's actually been a while since I've read a book from this series, and it was nice to get back into it. My in laws are from round this area so it always feels familiar to me with lots of towns and villages that I recognise. The story line in this one was certainly an interesting one, it may not have had a major twist in like some other crime novels do, but I still found it fairly fast paced and it held my interest. It raised a lot of points that get you thinking. A good family friend had a heart transplant a few years ago, and without it, he certainly wouldn't be here today. As a result we both put our names down on the donor list, and understand how it could make a difference. However finding yourself in the position of Caitlin and her mum and their desperation at the system, it makes you wonder what lengths some people would be willing to go to.

Three bodies are recovered from the Channel with their internal organs missing. A mother absolutely desperate to save her daughter’s life. Roy Grace and his team investigate and are soon on the trail of traffickers dealing in organs for transplantation. Roy Grace has had some good news as well and it leads him to make a momentous decision about his missing wife. This series just gets better and better - absolutely love it. On to the next one!

This is the first Roy Grace novel that I've really struggled with. I couldn't get into this one at all, and only ploughed on with it because I want to read the series as a whole. I'm starting to find the little snippets about Sandy really irritating.
