0 stars. DNF. The grammar was terrible. The story wasn’t much better. I tried multiple times to continue this book and it’s just not good.

Not bad, but not great either.

A huge shoutout to NetGalley & Briar Boleyn for the chance to dive into Queen of Roses!

Wait but this was so good!! I was a little nervous reading some of the reviews but I’m SO GLAD I decided to pick it up anyways. This was impossible to put down from the very first page and I’m immediately starting book 2. I picked this up because I read the first two books of bloodwing academy, and I was super interested in the world Medra came from. I also just love Briar Boleyn’s writing style
We are getting a slowwwww burn in this which I LOVE. Even though nothing has happened between them like AT ALL, I just know Draven is the MMC. The dark, broody captain of the guard?? YUM. And then Morgan, who was supposed to be queen but got sidelined by her pos father for her fae blood. She’s quite sheltered and innocent in this book, but is definitely growing into herself. I’m super excited to start the next book and see where the story heads. This is giving me very FBAA vibes, but still in a way that it’s its own story.
I’m so interested in the world and politics in this. I love the Arthurian lore mixed in with this story! After that ending, I cannot WAIT to continue and see how the world/plot grow and expand.
