This was really good! Definitely check your trigger warnings before reading this, but this was a really cool retelling of King Arthur with fea and magic. This has some spice and some pretty dark things happen. Really looking forward to diving into the next book and seeing more of this world. I really enjoyed her twist and some old characters and giving them to new life.

Queen of Roses is an Arthurian-inspired dark romantasy that had me invested straightaway! The book was a rollercoaster with a grumpy MMC who would do anything for the FMC, Morgan and there was the with hate to friends to lovers trope which I love!

Morgan’s character development was amazing and the world building was exceptional. It was a slow-burn book but I was sucked into the story from the first chapter.

There was evil, magic, action, trauma, heartache, tension and perfect amount of romance in this book. I enjoyed this book. It is perfect for fans of Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas.

It’s the first book in the Blood of a Fae series and I am left with so many questions. So excited to read the second book💖

Thank you so much Netgalley, Briar Boleyn and Starwater Press for this ARC copy!

I wanted to love this one so bad and I just couldn’t get into it :( I see it everywhere, all over TikTok, and Ms. Boleyn is so nice and friendly. The story is just soooo slow and drug out. I feel like so much has happened but at the same time… nothing has. There just wasn’t anything to really grab my attention and real me in.

Do you like triggers? This is the book for you! This book had so many triggers, from animal/pet murder to SA to homophobia, it was like walking through a minefield. And there is a trigger warning… IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK. What good does that do on kindle when I don’t even realize it’s there. It’s not properly warning anyone. Also my favorite character might be dead? Idk. I did not have a good time.

THAT BEING SAID, there was nothing wrong with this book, and I can totally see other people thoroughly enjoying it. I just did not, personally.

This was a very good dark fae romantasy. The relationships that Morgan has to figure out while figuring out the magic of her own was very daring of her. I feel like we definitely have a good new book boyfriend from this series. I wish Morgan and Draven had a bit more of a deeper look, but looking forward to book two for this! This was well written and kept me at the edge of my seat!

Thank you NetGalley, Starwater Press, and author Briar Boleyn for a copy of this ARC!
