I liked it. I loved the arthurian setting and the plot twists. I feel that it missed some details that could have made it amazing. But I will continue to read the series.

I'm not super keen on king author retellings but this was one that I enjoyed!!
The plot starts off pretty dark and it's tough to see Morgan suffering. I enjoyed when her journey finally began. The adventure aspect of their traveling was much more interesting and it was satisfying to see her grow into a stronger character.
The ending has me sucked in a wanting to read the next one!
Overall this was a fun, quick, easy read. A little predictable, but there were still a few surprises along the way.

Queen of Roses is a dark fantasy, Arthurian retelling with Fae.
This is perfect for people who enjoy:
●Slow Burn
●Forced Proximity
●Enemies to Lover
●Banter
●Betrayal
●Touch Her and Die
The story follows Princess Morgan, who is part fae. Her brother King Arthur decides to send her with two of his trusted guards, Draven and Whitehorn, on a journey to find Excalibur. Can she truly trust either one of them?
Draven is a mysterious, grumpy, morally gray character who is also protective. He made the story more interesting, keeping you guessing what he was thinking or what his motives really are. Throughout the book, I had so many questions about his background.
I strongly suggest this book, especially if you enjoy reading Jennifer L Armentrout. I got From Blood And Ash vibes. The beginning is a little slow and semi uncomfortable, but it quickly became captivating. I didn't want to stop reading because I needed answers. The ending only left me wanting more!! Draven is quickly becoming my next book boyfriend. I can't wait to read Court of Claws to see where Briar Boleyn will take us next.

Fae retelling of Morgan Pendragon? Sign me up! I was super stoked to read this book when I read the blurb. Queen of Roses is a refreshing spin on the Arthurian legacy one that had its ups and downs when it came to characters, but for world building was fantastic. I loved how Briar described Pendrath and the Temple of the Three Sisters. I enjoyed the descriptions throughly and learning about the fae and the hatred humans have for them.
One thing I didn't like that much particularly in this book were some of Morgans actions. She seemed extremely submissive which sucked because I didn't expect that out of her especially towards the middle of the book. I loved Draven he's definitely one of my favorite characters.
I liked the romance, it was definitely a slowburn and that's a preference for me when it comes to romance so I enjoyed that!
Thank you to Netgalley and Starwater Press for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I’ll always love a slow burn enemies-to-lovers with fairies and a “who did this to you” scene!
