Really disliked it up until the end. The end was great. Predictable but great.

After watching her mother's decline with early-onset dementia, Cass never thought it would happen to her, but now it seems she's forgetting everything--her alarm code, how to use her microwave and coffee machines and even large purchases. All of her problems seem to stem from the night she saw a women stopped on a deserted road. The next day, that woman was found murdered.

For me, this was not quite as successful as her prior novel, "Behind Closed Doors", but it was still an entertaining read. Even though it was not as twisty (if it had any at all) as most modern thrillers, it kept up the tension for the whole read. The peril of the main character was not as dire as "Behind Closed Doors," although like that one, the main character becomes the architect of her own solution, which is one thing I really admire in Paris's work.

It was a light read, but the ending was predictable.

I guessed pretty early on what was going on, so I found myself very frustrated with the main character for being so clueless.  She just accepted everything and didn’t question anything at all.  I felt the first 3/4 of the book was slow because I knew what was going on however, the twist at the end was pretty good and the ending was satisfying.  So I’d say it was ok.
