This is not worth the hype. Rowan is actually just a terrible human being. While that terrible does come from major family trauma he treats people poorly and nothing in this book oils be possible without tons of therapy for him. He does turn it around towards the very end, but Rowan sucks. Zahra is awesome, I read the book for her. The romance isn’t cute it’s manipulative as hell.
This is literally just Disneyland fanfic, so it was a pretty easy read.
Also Armenia is in Europe. Zahra is described as not being white, but also as being the daughter of an Armenian immigrant and someone of European descent. Maybe the author meant Argentinian? But Armenia is Eastern Europe so all of that was confusing as hell.

I read this 450-page book way quicker than I care to admit. I mean, I read it in 2 sittings but if I wouldn’t have had to go to work I would have done it in one sitting. It didn’t even feel like 450 pages to me, it read so quickly in my opinion. How some people thought it was slow is beyond me, I guess I get it but not really, I read it so fast.

The grumpy/sunshine trope is so good. It’s one of my favorite tropes and it was so good. I love a Mr. Crankypants. Zahra, bless her heart, I LOVED her. She was so funny.

“You better have a massive dick to back up that attitude or else people will be mighty disappointed.”
“Care to bring out a ruler and test your theory?”
“I left my magnifying glass at home, maybe tomorrow.”

LIKE MAAM.

She is also a HUGE Pride and Prejudice fan and it’s brought up multiple times throughout the book. I can clearly see where Lauren took inspiration from the book. As a Jane Austen fan, I loved the references in the story.

To be fair, some moments were a bit cringy but I was there for it. I also thought some moments were predictable, but again, I was there for it.

Rowan does have some “mess-ups,” don’t worry, there is no cheating but I love that Zahra made him grovel a little, to be honest, I wish she would’ve made him grovel a little more.

Oh, I can’t leave out that this book has 2 points of view which were great. I loved seeing both of their feelings and watching them change as the story went on.

Now I did use to work at Disney World, so maybe that’s why I loved the setting but it was so good. If you’re not ready for a complete replica of Disney, maybe hold off on this because Lauren must have taken notes while on the ride and incorporated them into her Dreamland. Ugh, I loved it. Maybe I’m also just inserting myself here and I’m a bit jealous a CEO never came to my ride and swept me off my feet.

THE ENDING OF THE BOOK. I WAS DECEASED, CRYING IN A CORNER.

Okay, I think that’s all. I’m waiting for the next book to come out which is about Rowan’s brother and I’m excited.

i couldn’t put this book down from the dedication until the end of the epilogue. i still don’t know how to describe how much i enjoyed this book.

i love the setting, it’s so unique compared to the other books i read. the book was a mix of laughter and pain, in all honesty. their breakup scene broke me, but rowan’s acts of service definitely covered that with me being a hopeless romantic.

i would’ve given this 5 stars if the characters and the plot weren’t cliche. overall, still worth the read.
