After several attempts, I ended up having to DNF this one. I know this book has wondrous reviews, but the writing style wasn't for me.

I can tell why someone would like this book and why it has so much acclaim. It is very well-written, and the story holds your attention. I particularly appreciated the performance of the audiobook narrators. However, it is not for me. It is so unrelentingly brutal and sad. It opens with two of the characters slaughtering a goat. Also there is just so much vomiting in this book.
